“Cheese Things”

These are another Grandma Era hit. When asked what she called them she said “Cheese Things”. They are seriously the best appetizer or snack ever! Super crispy, flaky and cheesy!! Yum!

Ingredients (Makes 20-24 triangles):

  • 8 oz. cream cheese

  • 8 oz. feta cheese

  • 1 lb. phyllo dough

  • ~1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

Instructions:

  • Mix cream cheese and feta cheese with a stand or hand mixer in a large bowl.

  • Brush the bottom of a sheet pan with small amount of the melted butter.

  • With the phyllo dough stacked in front of you, start by brushing the bottom half of the first sheet of phyllo dough with a small amount of butter.

  • Then fold the sheet of dough in half, top to bottom.

  • Brush the bottom half of the sheet you just folded with a small amount of butter and fold in half again.

  • Brush the thin sheet of dough you have left with a small amount of butter.

  • Add ~ 1 Tbs cheese mixture to the left corner of the dough.

  • Fold similar to a flag into a triangle shape. * See video below.

  • Brush each side with butter and place onto your sheet pan.

  • Continue until all the phyllo dough is gone. You may have a little amount of cheese mixture left.

  • Preheat oven to 450 degree F.

  • Bake for 7-8 minutes until triangles are golden brown on edges and corners.

  • Enjoy!
