Valentine’s Smoothie Bowl

IMG_3134.JPG

I have been trying to perfect the texture of a smoothie bowl for a while now. Mine always came out too runny. It turns out the trick is to use only frozen ingredients and to use the blender wand/”tamper” to aid in the process. With Valentine’s day coming up, I was happy to find a natural pink food coloring, beet juice powder! Not only does it provide a beautiful color, it also provides some of the amazing nutritional benefits of beets! I got mine at Terrasoul Superfoods.

Ingredients (makes 1 bowl):

  • 1 cup frozen bananas

  • 1 cup frozen pineapple

  • 1 tsp beet juice powder

Instructions:

  • Put all ingredients into a blender. Blend until smooth. Make sure to use the blender’s wand/”tamper” to help mix everything together.

  • Top with desired toppings (fruit, nuts, coconut flakes, chia seeds, etc)

The blender I use is a Vitamix. This blender definitely was a game changer for getting the right texture!
