Holiday Gift Guide 2020

If you know me, you know I am a kitchen gadget junkie. I love trying new tools in the kitchen to see what works and what doesn’t. I will also be the first to tell you that to be a good cook you do not need ANY of these things. In fact, my dad, a gourmet chef chops walnuts by hand at home because he doesn’t have any fancy tools…. Tools can make cooking time shorter or just make the process a little easier for the everyday cook, plus it’s just fun trying new things. I want to share items here that I love and recommend to my friends and family. This post does include affiliate links, but again I am sharing my honest recommendations here. These are things that I have used personally and I believe the foodie in your life (or you) might enjoy as gifts. Happy Holidays!

Love, Rachel

Food Thermometer- I was gifted this ThermoWorks meat thermometer a couple years ago and I LOVE IT! It is so accurate and makes grilling/cooking meat so much better. This brand is superior to most of what you will find out there. It is important to have a good meat thermometer for food safety. I’m gifting this to the grill lovers in my life this year!

Lemon/Lime Juicer - I honestly use this almost everyday. I use a lot of citrus in my dishes so this is a game changer. We also use this when we make cocktails. I like that there is a lime and lemon juicer in one.

Instant pot - I was super skeptical of the instant pot at first. I was scared that the pressure cooker would explode in my kitchen or something crazy… This gadget is actually a game changer for things like soups and stews. I find that I make similar things in here that I do in my crockpot but in WAY less time. So if you are a working professional and don’t have time to start a crockpot meal before work, this is a life saver. You can get a tender roast in less than an hour.. seriously. Like magic!

Zester- I use this all the time. I use it for lemon zest, lime zest and fresh ginger root. I like to freeze my ginger root, then grate it with this when a recipe calls for fresh ginger.

Rice Cooker- I use this ALL the time. I love making rice and this makes life so much easier. The instant pot I linked above will do the same thing, but sometimes I use both this and the instant pot at the same time if i’m making a stew to be served over rice. I also steam my vegetables in this!

Salad Shaker- I like to make my own salad dressings and sauces. This makes it easy (and less messy) to make, serve and store dressings.

Riedel Coupe Glasses- Honestly, I don’t have these…but they are on my Christmas list this year (Santa are you listening?). I may also be gifting these to a friend for Christmas. These are such a fun and classy way to serve sparkling wine, sparkling juice or a cocktail! Since we won’t be celebrating New Years with lots of friends this year, I am hopeful I will be drinking in style at home!

Milk Steamer- If you know someone who loves a good latte but does not have an espresso maker this would be the perfect gift! This gadget is a quick way to up your coffee game at home.

Salad Spinner- Quick and easy way to rinse and get rid of excess moisture in your salad greens before serving.

Dutch Oven - I received this as a gift last year and I can honestly say it was one of the best gifts I’ve ever received. I think of the friend that gifted it to me every single time I use it. It makes me so happy and has really upped my bread making and stews! This red color is also adorable!

Happy Shopping! And Happy Holidays! I appreciate you!
